The 46th Annual Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Meeting in magical Lake Buena Vista, Florida, is certain to be an unmatched educational experience and, of course, incredibly fun. We have a diverse group of faculty, including many experts in regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine and a number of fresh faces who are making an impact in our field.
The theme “value proposition of regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine” will be reflected in the program, including the latest developments in regional anesthesia and debating the evidence that support the use of each one and interactive demonstration and hands-on workshops for contemporary as well as conventional regional techniques. We will live-stream a combined panel with the Society of Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP). An orthopedic surgeon will discuss their take on the role of regional anesthesia and pain medicine in joint replacement and orthopedic trauma.
As the opioid epidemic is still a reality that we deal with in our daily practice, we designed a 360-degree discussion of this problem from the point of view of different stakeholders (governmental and non-governmental).
All these offerings are happening in a socially distanced, masked environment. The welcoming atmosphere of ASRA meetings with the backdrop of Orlando and the magic of Disney make this meeting one of a kind. This meeting program is true to the mission and vision of our society and is a living testament to our values of integrity, innovation, inclusiveness, service, compassion and wellness. This dynamic event is being designed by the 46th Annual Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Meeting Scientific/Educational Planning Team under the leadership of Chairs Nabil Elkassabany, MD, and Jaime Baratta, MD.
